SAR - Anthony Halberstadt Chapter
Welcome to the Anthony Halberstadt Chapter Sons of the American Revolution.
Current Chapter President: Jeff Jones; [email protected]
Current Chapter Vice President: Ray King; [email protected]
Current Chapter Secretary: Jason Vasher; [email protected]
We are a chapter of the Indiana Society of the Sons of the American Revolution located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Sons of the American Revolution is a historical, educational, and patriotic “lineage” society comprised of male descendants of patriots who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774 – 1783. We seek to maintain and expand the meaning of patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of “e pluribus unum” that was created from the people of many nations — one nation and one people.

A great opportunity and well deserved!
📚 Staff Spotlight: Bill Burchfield
Please join us in congratulating Bill Burchfield on his recent promotion to Library Services and IT Manager at the SAR!
In his new role, Bill is looking forward to bringing together his background in librarianship and genealogy with his IT experience. He hopes to continue expanding the SAR Genealogical Research Library’s digital offerings, supporting modernization of the SAR’s database systems, and meeting the technology needs of the SAR Museum.
Did you know the SAR Genealogical Research Library houses one of the largest national-level genealogical collections in the region? While many libraries focus their genealogical collections on a particular state or region, the SAR’s collection has a truly national scope. And many cataloged titles include links to e-books or digitized copies, allowing researchers to explore their family history from home!
When he’s not at the SAR, Bill enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, and gaming on his computer.
We’re excited to see Bill take on this new role and continue helping the SAR’s library, technology, and research resources grow!
