The ProSelf Institute is purposed to help ensure individuals and groups are performing and thriving at the pace and purpose they were created to be.
The idea that money is evil is a harmful misconception. The Bible teaches that the love of money is the issue, not money itself. It's perfectly acceptable to build wealth, secure your finances, and have savings that make you independent of credit cards. True security means being able to borrow from yourself.
No longer bound, no chains holding me. My soul is resting, and it's such a blessing to know I'm free. If you feel it too, say 'I'm free!' Let's label that freedom: debt-free, pain-free, loneliness-free, sadness-free, depression-free. What are you free from today?
Credit card debt feels like a one-night stand that lasts forever. You pay and pay, but the bill keeps coming, with nothing to show for it. Don't get lost in the dollars and pennies; count the cost before you spend.
It's not enough to just say 'I'm free.' You need to be specific. What are you free from? Debt? Loneliness? Sadness? Depression? Name it. Declare your freedom from it today. You need to label that thing.
Feeling overwhelmed by challenges? This week's ChapLift focuses on the final 'R' for navigating stress: Remembering. It's about localizing the problem to this moment, recognizing your resilience, and recalling your strength. This isn't the end of your world – you've overcome before, and you will again.
Even when the answer hasn't arrived, faith equips us to hold onto the promise. Like Rahab, whose cord remained a sign of hope before the walls fell, we too can hold onto hope and faith. Our faith is built through divine observation, opportunity, obstacles, and ultimately, outcome. Rahab's story shows us that even a past defined by others doesn't dictate destiny; her lineage became part of Jesus'.
You've been carrying labels placed by others—family, school, or your own inner critic. They've decided who you are, telling you you're too much or too far gone. Rahab's city once said the same, and now it's gone.
Don't underestimate the faith you already possess. You have tangible evidence of God's power—in your family, among friends, and in the testimonies around you. You have enough; the key is moving forward with what you already know.
Rahab's faith was tested as she waited for the walls of Jericho to fall. The spies promised her family's safety in exchange for her help. She tied a scarlet cord in her window, a visible sign of her commitment and a promise she held onto even as days turned into weeks. Like Rahab, we often hold onto prayers and promises that seem to yield nothing, questioning if they are real. Remember, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Rahab's cord was her evidence, her promise her foundation.
Some fear stepping into God's rest, therapy, or boundaries, especially when family doesn't understand. Choosing a new path—college, trade, ministry—over smaller expectations, or leaving dangerous popularity for God's new community. For women, the risk is leaving roles dictated by others. God prioritizes your life and healing over admiration while dying inside.
