Learning Adventures follows the Okaloosa County schools for closures due to inclement weather. We follow their child safety guidelines. We will be closed March 18, 2022.

The safety and well being of the children and families we serve has always been important to the staff and administration of Learning Adventures. We have always prided ourselves on being open and transparent.
As the Director of Learning Adventures, I want to inform you of a situation that occurred on Wednesday (01/05/22). A child was dropped off to our center with a visible limp. The parent and teacher noticed the limp, but the child seemed ok. Later that morning, the child showed signs of a serious injury. The parent was called and then child was taken to the hospital. The doctor discovered that the child's leg was broken.
I immediately notified the Department of Children and Families, and an investigation was conducted. The center has a camera system, and the recordings were reviewed. Law enforcement has arrested one of our employees.

This type of treatment in not acceptable and both the owner and I are devastated. In the fifteen years we have been here, we have never had this kind of incident. We have terminated one employee and have removed another until the investigation is completed.

At this time, it is unclear if the child arrived with an injury that was made worse or if the child's injury was caused by the employee. I can assure parents that we have cooperated with officials and law enforcement. Although I am not able to discuss specifics of the incident during an ongoing investigation, I am always available to you to discuss any concerns you might have about the safety of your child.
