It is about time we reintroduce Apollo, mainly because you might not even recognize him (before pictures in comments).

Apollo is a roughly 1.5-year-old male bully mix whose story is one of resilience. When he first came to us, he was heartbreakingly neglected. He was just skin and bones, desperately needing someone to give him a chance, and seemed to have lost all light in his eyes. I am very pleased to announce the finalization of the adoption of two of our amazing livestock people guardian dogs this past weekend.

As everyone knows, Cane Corsos are near and dear to my heart and one of my favorite breeds, along with the Anatolian Shepherd!

These are dogs that we just don't adopt out to anyone, unless they are bomb proof which both of them were with a few months training.

When Rocco the Corso and his brother came into my rescue 3 months ago, we took them in one at a time. His brother came and stayed 3 weeks and was trained up and neutered, very important part of the equation! And he went home where he will be staying with his owner who was talked into buying two very expensive puppies from the same litter. Anyone want to tell me what happens when you have two litter mate male puppies 10 months old unaltered? That's right litter mate syndrome.

Rocco came in off of the spay neuter transport where nobody could even get near him for a week. Then he slowly came around and it took a couple months. It took about 3 weeks before he would even go on walks with the dog walking volunteers. He had to be socialized and brought places where there were people and other animals and he realized this is fun instead of fearful 🤷 these are dogs that do not belong being adopted to just anyone because they are becoming the new fad 😑

Orilia (protector of humans) was pretty close to perfect coming from the Georgia kill shelter where they don't care what kind of dog it is they just have time stamps. Well it breaks my heart to think that someone trained that dog up to actually live in a home and to be house broke and not need a kennel. And that they would not find her in that horrible place! Where she was literally saved hours before euthanasia, because they have an amazing group of die hard people up there in Georgia that spend their own money and market these dogs because the county just doesn't care.
