Well folks, by now you’ve all received your 1099s and are ready to file. I’ve been hearing horror stories about some things that my officiating peers have heard from their current CPAs/tax preparers:
1.) “I heard we can’t deduct our mileage anymore.”
2.) ”Didn’t they disallow the meals expense [category]?”
3.) “The IRS will audit me if I have a home office expense.”
My fellow officials and small business owners, NONE of this is true! In fact, these are most likely the three largest expenses that help offset your taxable self-employment income.
NEW CLIENTS: I will review your prior tax returns FOR FREE, to help determine if amending them to reflect proper expense amounts will put more cash in your pocket. Please message me for details or call/text me at (513) 290-3517.
I started this business to help out my fellow officials and it is BOOMING into something spectacular. Let me know if I can help you OR any of your friends/family by easing the tax burden for our small businesses.
I am truly honored that Rule 11 Officials podcast mentioned me and Zebra Books on their latest episode! Tyler and Dwayne have been an integral part of my development in rules knowledge, and have furthered my passion for the sport of football. I'm looking forward to having them attend a few of our Cincinnati rules study sessions soon.
Fellow zebras, please keep me in mind for your tax prep needs this year. Let me help you offset that 1099 income and keep more money in your pocket. I have now accumulated over $100,000 in refunds for my clients since my business started; let me add yours to the total! Guaranteed to be the most affordable tax service for you and your small business(es). Message, email, call or text me -- I'll see it all!

My first article written as Lead Editor of a major sports officiating training platform. I am excited to be writing again, and to offering my opinions regarding subjects about which I am extremely passionate. I am grateful for this opportunity, and look forward to the next addition to my column!
Even in Uncertain Times : Preparation Makes Perfect... One would be hard-pressed to find an individual or business entity that hasn't been adversely affected in one way or another by this unprecedented climate. Of course, some more than others, but the world of sports was one of the most significantly impacted areas of our lives. Unfortunately, many win...
I have an idea for a competition for my fellow officials. I will provide --FREE 2020 TAX PREP-- to the winner of this contest! Please read and share this entire post.
Zebra Books just amended a client's 2018 federal and Kentucky tax returns to include all appropriate officiating expenses, and will put about $550 back into that family's pockets during these difficult times. For another friend, I am amending 2017 and 2018 federal/New York returns, and it appears they will get over $1,000 back altogether.
I love being able to do that for my peers, and I want to do it for as many of you as possible. So, whoever has the highest combined federal and state refunds from Zebra Books amending their 2017 or 2018 return will not have to pay a dime for next year's tax prep fees.
Even if you don't "win" this contest, you STILL WIN because I will be able to make sure you report all deductible expenses to offset your taxable income. Disclaimer: depending on the original prep of your returns, amending may not be necessary or beneficial. But I will provide a FREE CONSULTATION (as always) to evaluate your prior year returns.
Message me for details or to make an appointment today!
