Thank you to Stryten Energy for donating a generous amount of household and hygiene products and a cash donation for our veteran housing program. We couldn’t do what we do without this kind of community support. Thank you Stryten!

Next Step Homeless Services to break ground on 8,000-square-foot facility, 30 tiny homes | River Valley Democrat-Gazette FORT SMITH -- Next Step Homeless Services will soon be breaking ground on a massive housing facility aimed at helping the unhoused population in Fort Smith.
Our agency was honored to receive a grant chosen by the ARCOM Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society last night at the Class of 2026 Graduate Banquet. The honor society medical students spent many days at Next Step over the year examining and caring for the homeless clients in our day shelter. What a wonderful group of physicians they will be. Thank you to each of them and to the Degen Foundation for providing the grant funds.❤️

We would like to congratulate one of our housing program success stories, Deborah Walker. She began our program living at our Esther group house and eventually moved to the apartments we operate with First Presbyterian Church. She steadily worked our program with one of our social workers, Atelia. She rebuilt relationships, got her job back as a hairstylist, paid off fines, got a reliable car, stayed sober and now is in permanent housing. Great job Deborah!
