Play Is a Child’s Language
Children do not always have the words to explain what they feel, what they fear, or what they need.
Play therapy gives children a developmentally appropriate way to express feelings, build coping skills, practice problem-solving, and work through challenges in a safe therapeutic relationship.
To adults, it may look like play.
To children, it is communication.
To a trained therapist, it is meaningful work.

A lot of people wonder what therapy actually looks like.
Therapy is not about being judged, told what to do, or having to explain everything perfectly. It is a space where you can talk honestly, process what you are carrying, and learn tools to manage stress, emotions, relationships, and life transitions.
Therapy can look different for each person, but the goal is the same: support, healing, insight, and growth.

You do not have to wait until everything feels unmanageable before reaching out for support.
Therapy can be a safe place to talk through what feels heavy, confusing, painful, or overwhelming. You do not have to have the “right words” or know exactly where to start.
Sometimes the first step is simply saying, “I think I need help.”
Fort Smith Therapy is here to support you when you’re ready.

Mother’s Day can bring joy, gratitude, grief, stress, longing, or a mix of all of them at once.
Today, we honor:
🌷 the moms doing their best
🌷 the women grieving mothers or children
🌷 the foster and adoptive moms
🌷 the stepmoms and grandmothers
🌷 the exhausted moms
🌷 the moms healing while raising others
🌷 and those who wish this day felt different
There is no “perfect” way to mother, and there is no “correct” way to feel today.
Be gentle with yourself.
You are allowed to celebrate, grieve, rest, remember, or simply make it through the day.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Fort Smith Therapy 💙
