Scott, Shane, & Wes help inspire the next generation of innovators by leading a hands-on STEM activity known as the Jet Toy Challenge. In this engaging program, students step into the role of engineers as they design, build, and test their own small β€œjet” vehicles powered by balloon.

The challenge centers on the principles of Newton’s Laws. Through this simple but powerful demonstration, students gain a deeper understanding of how forces interact in real-world engineering.

Students also explore key physics concepts such as friction, air resistance, and the relationship between mass and acceleration. By experimenting with different designs and materials, students learn how these factors influence performance, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving.

The Jet Toy Challenge highlights how engineering principles are applied in industries like automotive and aerospace, fields where Honda continues to innovate.

The winner of the JeT Toy Challenge bracket was Kate & Kinley! Everyone did a great job racing their balloon powered car!

Congratulations to our ten 7th grade students who presented their wreath essay speeches to a panel of Legion/VFW members. They all did a wonderful job and should be proud. The following students were selected to present the wreath at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on their Washington DC trip in the fall: Anna Niekamp, Conner Homan, Rachel Fortkamp, and Tyler Steinbrunner. A special thank you to our judges: Ken Romer, Ken Knapke, Mike Kahlig, Ken Lamm, and Mike Schmitz.
