If someone tells you they'll make your business " #1 in ChatGPT," ask them how.

There is no #1 spot to buy. AI answers are generated fresh for every question, based on your reviews, your website, your reputation, and what other sites say about you — not a leaderboard anyone controls.

We wrote up exactly what actually moves the needle in AI search, and why it takes 60-90 days to see it, not seven. It's not the pitch that wins the most deals. We've lost business to companies who promised instant #1 rankings. Most of them come back to us after that promise doesn't hold up.

Your customers quit searching and started asking.

AI gives them a short list and quietly leaves everyone else off it. Most owners can't even tell if they made the cut, because nothing warns you when you get skipped. Your site can be beautiful and still unreadable to the AI. And showing up on one platform doesn't mean you're showing up where people actually ask.

The one thread through all of it: this is already happening, whether your business is ready or not. And the ones getting named aren't the loudest or the richest — they're the ones who are structured, trusted, and consistently there. That's Answer Engine Optimization, plain and simple.

Don't guess where you stand. Find out.

DM “REPORT” or drop a comment and I'll point you to a free AI visibility check. No pitch, no pressure — just so you actually know.

Happy 4th, everyone.

If you're the one manning the grill today, godspeed. If you're the one just showing up with a cooler and good vibes, even better.

Enjoy the day. 🇺🇸

Showing up on one AI platform isn't the win you think it is.

Ask the exact same question on ChatGPT, then Perplexity, then Gemini — and you'll often get three totally different lists. The overlap is tiny. Something like 89% of citations don't match between ChatGPT and Perplexity, and roughly 68% of brands only ever show up on one of them.

So you could be crushing it on one and completely missing from the two others your customers actually use. Feels like you're findable. You mostly aren't.

And this is exactly what trips people up — they check ChatGPT once, spot their name, figure they're set. Meanwhile half their market is over on a different AI that's never even heard of them. The real goal isn't one lucky mention. It's showing up everywhere they ask.

This one stings a little: you can have the best website in your whole industry and still be invisible to AI.

Gorgeous design, sharp copy, customers who love you — and still nowhere when someone asks ChatGPT who to call. I know. It's not fair.

Here's why it happens. AI doesn't look at your site the way a person does. It reads structure. Clear answers, clean formatting, little signals that say “this business is real and worth trusting.” No structure, and it just skips right past you.

Couple things that genuinely move the needle: pages that open with a straight answer get named way more often, and pages you've touched in the last 90 days are about 3x more likely to get cited than ones gathering dust.

The annoying truth? Your competitor might run a worse business but a more readable site — and that's who gets the name. Good news is it's fixable, and it's more about structure than spending money.

The old way: someone searches, sees a list, picks one. You were fighting for a click.

The new way: someone asks, and the AI just picks for them. You're not fighting for a click anymore — you're fighting to be the answer.

And this is the part people don't clock: it's winner-take-most. The AI names two, maybe three businesses. Everyone else doesn't get a smaller slice — they get nothing. There's no page two to slide onto.

Here's the kicker, and it surprised me too: about 85% of what AI pulls to make those calls comes from other places on the web, not your own site. So the question stopped being “how do I rank?” It's now “how do I become the one the AI actually trusts enough to name?” That's the whole game. It's got a name — Answer Engine Optimization.

Everyone wants to show up in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and more.

Nobody seems to know what it should cost.

We put together a simple guide that breaks it all down.

Do you actually know what AI says about your business?

Most people don't, and honestly it's not their fault — there's nowhere obvious to look.

You can see your Google ranking. You can see your reviews. But when ChatGPT rattles off three companies and you're not one of them? Nothing. No ping, no email, no heads-up. It just quietly happens, again and again.

And get this — something like 78% of marketers admit they can't measure how they show up in AI at all. So if you're sitting there going “I have no idea,” welcome to the club, it's a big one.

But here's the good news I'd actually lean over and tell you: you can see it now. Which platforms mention you, which skip you, where your competitors are quietly cleaning up. Want me to point you to a free check? DM “REPORT” and I'll send it over.

Last time you needed someone — a plumber, a lawyer, whatever — did you actually scroll through a page of links and weigh them all up? Or did you just ask ChatGPT and roll with whoever it named?

Yeah. That's what your customers are doing too. They're not searching anymore, they're asking. And the AI hands them two or three names and quietly drops everybody else.

So here's the thing I'd actually want you to know: when someone asks for the best [what you do] near them, is it your name coming out of that thing — or the guy down the road? If you don't know, that's the part that should bug you a little. Because it's happening right now either way.

Sunday gut-check: what do you actually have to lose here?

AudienceIntent reactivates the old leads sitting in your CRM on revenue share. Nothing up front, and nothing out of pocket if it doesn't produce. You only pay from what comes back.

So when the downside is zero and the upside is revenue from leads you already own — why not.

Comment "Reactivate" and AudienceIntent will walk you through it.
