We have enjoyed a busy couple of weeks. We recently inducted two new members, Bobby Tyler and Alicia Dasch; congratulations to both! We also presented a donation check to Isaiah 117 House. In addition, we had the pleasure of hosting two exceptional speakers: Jordan Tabor discussed his background and passion for the trades, and Ritchie Russell and Destiny Smith shared insights from the York County Juvenile Diversion Program. It's great to be a Rotarian!

We were honored to meet Eric Berisford, founder of the Ruck and Roll Foundation. This organization provides invaluable support to Fort Mill School employees affected by cancer, either personally or through a family member. Thank you for sharing your mission and vision with us, Eric.

Rotary’s annual literacy picnic is always a fantastic evening full of community spirit, with all elementary schools in the district working together towards a common goal. Thank you to all of Fort Mill’s elementary schools for participating and taking the time to create their own themed booths. Congratulations to the three winners – we look forward to continuing to promote literacy and to next year’s picnic.

Serving at the Bethel Men’s Shelter is close to our hearts; it’s always great seeing the children of Rotarians getting involved at such a young age. Service Above Self.

Days like yesterday are what make us proud Rotarians. Our annual Literacy Picnic was a great success, marked by the distribution of over 3,000 books (each child received two free books), the serving of more than 2,300 hot dogs, several author book readings, and even a chance to meet a cow. The event also showcased performances by local schools, community partners, and featured engaging theme booths representing all elementary schools within the Fort Mill School District. Amazing! In addition, every first-grade student and their family were invited to participate. The event provided an ideal platform for advocating reading and literacy on a leisurely (almost rain-free) afternoon at the Anne Springs Greenway. Thank you to everyone who assisted with this fantastic day, special recognition goes out to Gretchen Johnson for leading this initiative.

The FMHS Interact Club is conducting a book collection drive for several organizations, including Isaiah 117 House. Participating students will receive Beta Club points, if eligible, and also be entered into a gift basket raffle. We appreciate the FMHS Interact Club's initiative in organizing this book drive. It is inspiring to witness young people demonstrating a commitment to service at such a young age. Way to go Interact Club!
