Happy 55th Birthday, Mr. Tim Burton!

To celebrate the birthday of American film director, producer, writer, artist and animator, a hundred cake decorators from around the world have collaborated to create an edible collage worthy of the man with Hollywood’s most bizarre imagination!

The idea was hatched in March 2013 by our brilliant little leader; Tracey Louise Rothwell of Little Cherry Cake Company (T-Cakes), whom is a BIG fan of Tim Burton. Popularity, renown and ability were not criteria for inclusion – just a willingness to work hard together and create something unique. Soon we rounded up our 100 team members and it was all systems go!

Each character has been recreated in sugar form; cake, cookies, butter cream, fondant, royal icing, modeling chocolate and other edible mediums. Our Burtonesque bakers embraced their inner Burton, stepped out of their comfort zones and stamped their own styles all over their chosen characters. You have got to see it to believe it

I chose Scraps from The Co**se Bride because I thought it would be super fun to create a bone dog from sugar. He is all fondant with tylose added in. I just love how he turned out. :)
