Who taught us what a home is supposed to feel like, and then made sure ours did.
We’re thinking about all the moms today. The ones who are here, the ones we’ve lost, and the ones still in the middle of the work, raising kids who don’t yet know how lucky they are.

What is book-matching in wood?
Bookmatching is a woodworking technique where two consecutive slices from the same log are opened up like the pages of a book, so the grain pattern on one piece mirrors the other. The result is a symmetrical, mirror-image pattern across the seam.
It’s used in tabletops, cabinet door panels, guitar tops, and high-end veneer work where you want the grain to be the visual feature. The two slabs come from sequential cuts, so the figure (knots, swirls, color variation) lines up almost perfectly when laid side by side.
