Used Household Batteries | US EPA 03/04/2025

In 1800 Alessandro Volta invented the electric battery and changed the world. Here is some information from the EPA on how to take care of used batteries. (https://www.epa.gov/recycle/used-household-batteries)

Alkaline and Zinc Carbon Batteries: Examples of these include AA and AAA batteries. Some places recycle these batteries and it is typically safe to throw them away with your household trash.
Button or Coin Batteries and Lithium Batteries: These are often used in watches and smoke detectors. These should be individually placed in plastic bags, or have electrical tape placed over the terminals. Contact local trash or recycling facilities to find out the best way to dispose of them for your area.

What You Can Do to Prevent Impaired Driving 02/27/2025

Help prevent impaired Driving. Here are four tips the CDC gives to do this:

1 - Plan ahead if you know you will be consuming alcohol or drugs.

2 - Get a ride with a driver who has not been using alcohol or drugs.

3 - Agree on a designated driver ahead of time who won’t be ingesting alcohol or drugs.

4 - Be aware of prescription and over the counter medicines; it is not safe to drive while using some of these.
