At the beginning of summer, a group of dedicated students attended an orientation trip. This trip served as an opportunity to take on the ambassador challenge course which includes elements of physical fitness, leadership development, land navigation, and the memorization of school history. These Student Ambassadors will guide their classmates in fitness, outdoor education, and at social activities, while also acting as representatives of the school to new families and at community events.

In this episode of Hoplite Radio, Ridgeview Classical Schools Headmaster, Mr. Anderson, sits down with third-grade teacher Miss Bogle to discuss her remarkable journey from serving tables at Silver Grill Cafe to leading her own classroom at Ridgeview.

Miss Bogle shares how a chance conversation with Ridgeview staff members while working as a waitress led her to discover classical education and a career she never expected. A recent graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in psychology, Miss Bogle entered Ridgeview as a teaching assistant before unexpectedly stepping into a third-grade teaching role just days later. Even though a little lightning cut our end-of-year picnic short, we still had a great time! Special thanks to Miss Grace, Mrs. Van Dixhorn, and all of our volunteers who helped make this event possible. Cheers to summer!

Eli’s thesis explored how growth, love, and adventure are fundamental components of a good life, and his time at Ridgeview reflected those values well. As a student ambassador, he represented the school well while also embracing the adventures that came with the role. Some of his favorite memories were spending time with friends on outdoor trips and building stronger relationships with classmates through those shared experiences.

His advice for younger Hoplites is "to remember to have fun. Don't get too caught up in being worried about your grades and all of the things you have to do, live in the moment and enjoy your time. You will only ever be in high school once, so don't waste it being worried and unhappy all the time."

After graduation, Eli plans to attend the University of Wyoming to pursue a degree in Biology, while continuing his hobby of fixing up old trucks. Congratulations, Eli!
