Our organization is comprised of members from all walks of life with a common connection: All are relatives of those who served overseas in a foreign conflict or war. Most members live in the Fort Atkinson, WI area - but not all. (not required)

Commander Archie Hafer earned his white hat tonight at the banquet! Great job VFW Post 1879! And the Auxiliary earned the Circle of Excellence Achievement award also! Great way to end the 2025-26 year. 🙂 Cheers to the new VFW year starting July 1st!!

Thank you Frostie Freeze for donating a portion of your sales on Memorial Day to VFW Post 1879 - Fort Atkinson! These funds of $679 will be put to good use helping veterans and their families. At our meeting tonight we installed our 2026-27 Officers!! Thanks to the Fort Atkinson American Legion Post for letting us hold our meeting there due to the flood water at our VFW Post.

The water is still high and covering the drive in and parking lot at our Post. We will have our May Auxiliary member meeting at the American Legion in Fort Atkinson this Thursday evening. (5/7) social hour 6-7… 7pm meeting start. Remember it is installation so all incoming officers please wear Aux. Attire for the officer official photo. Thanks!!! 🙏

Just a reminder.... Our VFW Post 1879 will not be serving breakfast this Sunday so that our volunteers can enjoy Easter Sunday off and with their families. Hope to see you next weekend!
Due to Mother Nature, we have moved our member meeting to next Thursday night, April 9th! Same time as usual.
