The Forney Police Department is offering a summer Junior Police Academy for kids who have completed 7th and 8th grade. The program is FREE and will be held July 27, 2026, through July 31, 2026, at the Forney Police Department. Hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with lunch provided.

The academy is designed to help kids get acquainted with police officers and other first responders while having fun and learning about Law Enforcement. Students will receive classroom instruction and participate in hands-on activities. Topics include the dangers of drugs and alcohol, anti-bullying, internet safety, gun safety, first aid, Police Drones, and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). Students will also have the opportunity to meet our K-9 Officer!

Classes will be supervised by Forney Police Officers and police volunteers (VIPS). Lunch will be provided Monday through Friday. A class shirt will be provided and must be worn throughout the academy.

Again, the Junior Police Academy is provided FREE of Charge! Spots are limited, so register now!

Fraudsters still be scamming:

Service road closure at hwy 80 and 548

TRAFFIC ALERT: A gas line has been struck along the North Service Road of U.S. 80. Fire crews are on scene, and the service road is closed from Chick-fil-A to FM 548.

The gas company has been notified, and there is currently no estimated time for repairs. Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
