40 inch tv mount in the bathroom
I’ve heard the saying that there are people watching you that you aren’t even aware of and before today I’d never experienced it. I was doing a job for a repeat client’s mom and it dealt with mounting on tile. If you don’t know about tile, depending on what you’re mounting, there is 0 room for error, so I’m extra meticulous with it. Well, as I’m taking measurements, the client giggles and says, “my grandnaby wasn’t exaggerating about you”. I said, “who me?” She said, “yup! She told me, I like him maw maw, he’s very meticulous and wants the job done right! I watched him do my dad’s tv and surround sound and he got it perfect”.
I never expected his daughter to be watching me while I was working.
Work done:
Motorized drop down mount and mantle installation on tile: Total labor: $400
The mount needed to be assembled, it’s a 65 inch tv, it’s a tile fireplace, the soundbar was attached to the tv and the mantle was installed.
When I see techs advertising that they do work on surfaces like tile, brick and stone and all they’re charging is $25-$50 extra, I’m speechless, cause what?!
Had a client contacted me yesterday to get a quote on TV mounting. I mistakenly thought that I was fully booked on Monday (I am fully booked the rest of the week) and I told him, I can’t get to you until next Friday. He told me, “I’m not surprised, all those 5 star reviews you have and you’re at the top on Google in this area! There’s no way to get to me sooner?”. Told him, I’ll make an exception this once and I can get you on Sunday afternoon and he was estatic. Well, the appointment I had today (10/18), ended up not going as long as I thought it would. So you can imagine his excitement when I told him that I could push him up today if he had time. In conclusion, I ended up receiving a $70 tip.
It “tickles” me when someone has a mid size big screen TV and I show up to mount it. They look like, “where’s your help”? I’m it!!! “The other guys said they would have to bring 2 people…
Well, that’s them 😎.
Had a client found me on Angi yesterday. As we were on the phone, she was telling me how she initially looked on Marketplace and she kept seeing $100 to mount your tv, bracket and hidden wires included. She said, it didn’t just sit right with me. I told her, it shouldn’t. Those people are most likely hiding the wires wrong and most likely don’t have business insurance, so if something goes wrong, you’re screwed. Gave her my quote… got her done in the next hour.
