This is exactly the type of real-world REO friction that deserves more attention.
When contractor delays or disconnected updates slow down the process, the impact can be felt across the full asset lifecycle, from market readiness to DOM and disposition speed.
USRES supports REO asset management through a graded network of 80,000+ active REO agents, local market valuations, turn-time specialists, and in-house licensed appraiser reviews for BPO accuracy.
RES.NET adds the technology layer that helps organize communication, reporting, order delivery, and workflow visibility across the transaction process.
Because REO success depends on more than the listing. It depends on the systems, people, and oversight behind each step.

Rida Sharaf, USRES Chief Default Officer, just wrapped up our first CMBA Mortgage Innovators Conference in beautiful Huntington Beach, California.
Rida reported a strong turnout and a great mix of lenders, operators, and tech leaders. A lot of focus on growth, production, and innovation on the front end of the mortgage lifecycle.
What stood out most is how much opportunity still exists on the back end.
As origination scales, the need for better infrastructure across loss mitigation, servicing, and REO becomes even more critical. There is a clear gap between front-end innovation and downstream ex*****on.
When reflecting on the event, Rida said, "Appreciate the conversations and connections throughout the week. Looking forward to continuing a few of them and exploring where we can bring more structure, efficiency, and cost control to the default space."

Default management in 2026 requires more than reacting to foreclosure activity. It requires earlier visibility, smarter workflows, and technology that helps teams act before costs compound.
In the new whitepaper, Navigating the Foreclosure Landscape in 2026, we explore how servicers and investors can use data-driven platforms, borrower engagement tools, streamlined short sale/DIL workflows, preservation, valuations, and REO disposition support to improve outcomes across the delinquency-to-disposition lifecycle.
Key topics include:
• Predictive analytics for earlier intervention
• Borrower portals and compliant engagement
• Regulation X considerations
• REO cost control and recovery optimization
• End-to-end default management strategies for 2026
Written by Rida Sharf, USRES Chief Default Officer, this whitepaper combines market insight with real-world default management experience to help servicers and investors prepare for the road ahead.
