❤️ WHY WE RIDE: LOCAL TRAILS. GLOBAL IMPACT.
Good Dirt Ride has always been about more than the miles. It’s about what we can accomplish together through cycling.
What began in 2006 as Ride for Rwanda has grown into a community-driven fundraiser with a lasting mission: creating opportunities through cycling while giving back to the trails and communities that bring us together.
Since its beginning, riders, donors, sponsors and volunteers have helped raise more than $1.7 million for nonprofit efforts in Africa.
Today, that mission continues with an impact that reaches from Orange County to cycling communities across Africa.
🌍 TEAM AFRICA RISING
Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity doesn’t.
Team Africa Rising works to bridge that gap by supporting cycling development across Africa through access to equipment, coaching, training, mentorship and racing opportunities.
Their work helps aspiring cyclists develop their abilities, pursue their dreams and build pathways toward becoming athletes, mentors, coaches and community leaders.
Some riders have reached the professional ranks, demonstrating what’s possible when talent is given the opportunity to grow.
🏔️ OCMTBA
Great trails don’t maintain themselves!
The Orange County Mountain Bike Association works to protect and expand trail access through stewardship, maintenance, volunteer trail work, advocacy and community involvement.
Their efforts help preserve the places we love to ride while supporting the future of mountain biking throughout Orange County.
🚵 ONE RIDE. TWO LEVELS OF IMPACT.
When you register for Good Dirt Ride, you’re doing more than signing up for a 10, 15, 25 or 50-mile adventure.
You’re joining a community that believes cycling can create meaningful change, both in our own backyard and around the world.

A big thank you to Ninja MTB Performance for supporting the 2026 Good Dirt Ride as a Silver Sponsor!
Ninja MTB Performance helps riders build skills, confidence and progression through mountain bike skills clinics and purpose-built training equipment. Their programs and products include skills clinics, jump ramps, skills stations and air bag landers, giving riders more ways to practice, progress and have fun on the bike.
With more than 50,000 riders coached and 2,000+ clinics nationwide, Ninja has built a strong community around helping mountain bikers become better, safer and more confident riders.
Support from sponsors like Ninja MTB Performance helps the Good Dirt Ride continue to Pedal for a Purpose while raising funds for two organizations making an impact through cycling: OCMTBA and Africa Rising Cycling.
OCMTBA supports the Orange County mountain biking community through trail stewardship, advocacy, education and access. Their work helps protect and maintain the trails we enjoy today while building relationships and advocating for the future of mountain biking in Orange County.
Africa Rising Cycling creates opportunities for cyclists and cycling communities across Africa through rider development, coaching, training, mentorship, equipment and resources, and opportunities to compete. The impact can extend far beyond racing, as riders gain experience and go on to become coaches, mentors, organizers and community leaders who help create opportunities for the next generation.
That is what Pedal for a Purpose is all about. A great day on the bike can help make a difference both here in Orange County and across cycling communities in Africa.

A big thank you to Trail’s End Cycling Center for returning as a sponsor of the 2026 Good Dirt Ride! 🚵
Trail’s End has been a longtime supporter of the ride and our cycling community, and they’re stepping up again this year as a Silver Sponsor.
They are also donating a wheelset similar to the hand-built 27.5 all-mountain wheels they contributed previously, with similar components, for this year’s prize lineup. Last time around, that wheelset alone retailed for more than $900 before the winner added disc rotors, valve stems and a SRAM GX Eagle cassette.
Support like this helps make the Good Dirt Ride much more than a great day of riding.
Funds raised through the event benefit Africa Rising Cycling, helping create opportunities for cyclists and cycling communities across Africa, and OCMTBA, supporting trail stewardship, advocacy, restoration and access right here in Orange County.
Thank you, Trail’s End Cycling Center, for continuing to support our riders, our trails and our mission to Pedal for a Purpose.
