The Well Church Foley
JESUS CENTERED & COMMUNITY FOCUSED We need each other and there is a place for you!
We exist to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the Gospel. If you are looking for a place to belong, searching for meaning and purpose, have questions about life, join with us on this journey of life as we walk together helping and encouraging each other to live more like Jesus.
You don’t have to have life figured out to come sit with us this Sunday.
Hey, this is Pastor Doug from The Well.
If you’ve been curious about church, but also a little nervous… I get it.
Maybe you’ve been hurt by church before. Maybe you feel like you’d have to pretend, dress a certain way, or already know “how it all works.”
You don’t.
At The Well, you can:
• Come as you are
• Bring your questions and doubts
• Sit, observe, or jump in—at your own pace
We’re just a group of imperfect people learning how to follow Jesus together, love one another well, and build real community.
I’d love to personally invite you to join us this Sunday at 10am at the OWA Theater in Foley. If you see me, please say hi—I’d love to meet you.

For the Person Who’s Not Sure About Church Anymore
Maybe you’re not sure where you stand with God right now.
Maybe you:
- Grew up in church but drifted
- Got hurt by Christians
- Have big questions no one seemed willing to talk about
- Aren’t even sure what you believe anymore
If that’s you, you’re not alone.
At **The Well Church**, many of us have been right where you are. We’ve:
- Sat in services feeling nothing
- Questioned whether God saw us or cared
- Lived one way on Sunday and another way the rest of the week
- Wondered if there was more to faith than just “checking the box”
We believe following Jesus is not about:
- Pretending we’re perfect
- Hiding our questions
- Going through religious motions
It’s about:
- Knowing Jesus personally
- Letting Him heal what’s broken in us
- Walking with others who are honest about their struggles
- Learning to live with peace, purpose, and hope
You don’t have to have it all figured out to be here.
You don’t have to talk like a “church person.”
You don’t have to clean up your life before you walk through the doors.
If you’re seeking, questioning, or just curious, you are welcome.

Before your life changes, your thinking usually has to.
The Bible says we’re “transformed by the renewing of our mind” (Romans 12).
That means spiritual growth starts in the way we think.
God gently confronts things like:
• Old beliefs that don’t line up with truth
• Lies we’ve believed about ourselves
• Narratives we’ve carried from past hurt
• Patterns we learned growing up that seemed normal, but weren’t healthy
Sometimes we have to unlearn before we can learn.
And that’s okay.
You’re not betraying your past by letting God reshape your mind. You’re allowing Him to lead you into health, freedom, and clarity.
Growth looks like saying:
“God, if I’m wrong about something, show me.
If there’s a better way to see this, teach me.
Renew my mind so I can live the way You designed me to live.”
If you’re wrestling with what you’ve been taught versus what you’re starting to see in Scripture, you don’t have to figure that out alone.

“If Growth Isn’t About Being Perfect?”
A lot of people avoid church because they think it’s for people who:
- Have their life together
- Never doubt
- Never struggle
But what if spiritual growth isn’t for the *put‑together*…
it’s for the *honest*?
The Bible talks about “working out” your faith.
Not earning it—just growing in it.
Think of it like a gym:
You don’t go because you’re already in perfect shape.
You go because you want to get stronger.
In the same way, we don’t seek God because we’re already good.
We seek Him because we’re not—and we want to change.
Real growth often looks like:
- Becoming a little more patient than you were last year
- Responding with a bit more kindness than before
- Letting go of one destructive habit at a time
- Catching yourself sooner when you’re about to repeat an old pattern
If you’ve been waiting to be “good enough” to get close to God,
you might be waiting forever.
Here’s a simple place to start this week:
> Take 5 minutes a day and talk to God honestly.
> Tell Him where you’re stuck and where you need help.
Then, when you’re ready, come sit with us at The Well Church in Foley.
We’re all in process here.

Here’s something people don’t always say out loud:
You can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.
A lot of us have:
- Hundreds of online “friends”
- Busy schedules
- Crowded calendars
…but no one who really knows what’s going on inside.
At The Well Church, we talk a lot about **biblical community**—
but in simple terms, that means:
- People who walk beside you, not just watch from a distance
- People who pray for you when life falls apart
- People who ask, “How are you really doing?” and mean it
- People who will celebrate your wins and sit with you in your losses
You don’t have to be “religious” to need that.
You just have to be human.
If you’re longing for a place where you can be known and still loved, we’d love to meet you.

Why Does Life Feel So Dark Sometimes?
Ever feel like you’re stumbling your way through life?
You keep hitting the same walls:
- Same arguments
- Same mistakes
- Same private battles
And you wonder, “What’s wrong with me?”
Here’s a different way to see it:
You don’t stub your toe in the dark because you’re clumsy.
You stub it because you can’t see.
The Bible uses simple language for this:
It calls confusion, twisted truth, and hidden things “darkness.”
And it calls clarity, truth, and real hope “light.”
Jesus describes Himself like this:
“I am the light of the world.”
Meaning:
- He doesn’t just offer a few tips
- He doesn’t just make us “a little better”
- He actually helps us *see*
If you’ve been walking through some dark spaces lately, here’s a simple prayer you can try:
> “God, if You’re real and You really are light, show me where I’m in the dark and help me see what’s true.”
You don’t have to have all the answers.
Sometimes the bravest first step is just admitting, “I can’t see on my own.”
If you’d like to explore who Jesus really is, you’re always welcome to visit us at The Well Church in Foley.
We meet at the OWA Theater, and there’s a seat for you.
