Cybersecurity alerts from agencies like the FBI and CISA are only useful when organizations are prepared to act on them quickly.

After identifying suspicious activity tied to an Iranian-origin attack against a client network, Shane and the ATG team captured the related IP address, reported that intelligence back to CISA, and pushed it into an external dynamic list across managed client firewalls.

That means if the same adversary attempts to target another protected environment, those systems can recognize and respond faster.

For critical infrastructure operators, including water, wastewater, energy, and transportation, cybersecurity is no longer just about receiving alerts. It is about having the systems, processes, and reporting in place to act on intelligence immediately.

If your organization is unsure whether your firewall environment is properly configured to receive, report, and respond to emerging threat intelligence, now is the time to assess your protection.

Water and wastewater systems cannot afford delayed cyber intelligence, especially during periods of international conflict.

Today, let’s discuss the importance of staying connected with the cyber defense resources already built to support critical infrastructure, including the FBI, CISA, and industry-specific information sharing networks.

With indicators of compromise moving faster and more frequently, municipalities and utility leaders need to know who their cyber defenders are before there is an incident.

For water and wastewater operators, this is the time to confirm:
• Who your local CISA representative is
• How to contact your FBI cyber field office
• Whether you are connected to the right ISAC for your industry
• How your team is monitoring and responding to threat intelligence

ATG is actively tracking cybersecurity intelligence for water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure, helping organizations better understand their exposure before small vulnerabilities become operational risks.

The ATG Team had a great time at the AWWA MS-AL Annual Conference yesterday. Strong conversations with operators and OT providers around cybersecurity, threat intelligence, and the growing role of InfraGard in public-private collaboration.

The demand for smarter, more resilient water infrastructure is real.
