I spent the morning at the Georgia Aquarium — surrounded by incredible finance leaders, meaningful conversations, and one of the most beautiful settings in Atlanta.

This is the part of my work I really love as a recruiter.

Getting out in the market.
Meeting people face-to-face.
Learning from leaders.
Building real relationships.

Grateful for days like today and the opportunity to be around people who are doing big things in the accounting and finance community.

My day job is recruiting within the accounting/finance industry.

One of my favorite parts of recruiting has always been the relationship side.

Yes, the search matters.
Yes, the role matters.
Yes, finding the right person matters.

But getting to know the people behind the business — that’s the part I genuinely enjoy.

This week, I brought a client a handmade treat tray with fresh organic sourdough, cheese, strawberries, cured meats, and boiled eggs from my own backyard hens.

A little unique?
Definitely.

But that’s kind of the point.

I love being able to combine something I personally enjoy — baking fresh bread — with the work I do every day. It gives me a reason to show up in person, sit across the table, have real conversations, and continue building relationships that go beyond a job order.

Recruiting is a people business.

And sometimes, people remember the bread. 😊
