Therapy kinda weekend ❤️
After a 10k a while back, I got a little too saucy and signed up for a Marine Corps Half on America's 250th birthday… in Virginia, where my favorite humans moved.

I could lie and tell you some cheesy sh*t… but honestly, this was the last “first” holiday without my father, and it hit hard.
I cried like a lil baby, his absence was loud today.
But I pulled together what little I had left to celebrate my own mom, and I’m grateful for that.
You can hold grief and gratitude at the same time.

I’m the broke lady next to the rich kid ☠️😂
This shows up everywhere, especially with kids, clients, and people looking to you for guidance.
They come to you stressed, overwhelmed, unsure…
and it’s tempting to say, “You’re fine, it’s not that serious.” I’m certainly guilty of it.
But it is serious to them. RIGHT NOW.
That’s their current ceiling. That’s the hardest thing they’ve handled so far.
And if every time they open up, you minimize it… eventually they stop opening up.
The goal isn’t to agree that everything is catastrophic. That’s how people get soft. We’ll save that for a later conversation.
The goal is to acknowledge the moment and then guide them through it.
That’s how you actually help someone grow.
