Did you know oak trees are pollinator powerhouses? No other plant group supports more butterflies and moths. More than 500 pollinator species rely on oaks to complete their life cycle. Without oaks, many pollinators would not be able to survive.

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒŽ World Rainforest Day | June 22 ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒฟ

Today, we celebrate the incredible rainforests that help regulate our climate, produce oxygen, support biodiversity, and provide resources for communities around the world.

While rainforests may seem far from Florence, our everyday choices have a global impact. By reducing waste, recycling properly, planting trees, conserving water, and protecting natural spaces, we can all play a role in preserving the ecosystems that sustain life on Earth.

We believe that caring for our local environment is part of a larger commitment to protecting our planet. Every tree planted, every piece of litter removed, and every community member engaged makes a difference.

๐ŸŒฑ Join us in making choices that support a cleaner, greener futureโ€”both here in Florence and around the world.

๐Ÿ Bees have 2 stomachs: one for eating, and one for storing nectar and processing it into honey!

๐Ÿฏ Bees use their nectar stomach, also known as the crop, to store the nectar they collect from flowers or water, then carry it back to the hive. Once they return, they pass the nectar to other bees through their mouths. As the nectar is passed along, the complex sugars are broken down, and it is then deposited into honeycomb cells, where it ultimately becomes honey.

โค๏ธ Weโ€™re halfway through celebrating pollinators! Check back in with us on the final two days for the BEEโ€™S KNEES about bees and other pollinators.
