I am incredibly proud to announce that one of my standout students, Rashad Washington, has been named a recipient of the 2026 SME Education Foundation Scholarship!

Out of over 2,000 applicants nationwide, Rashad was selected for his exceptional technical skill, academic dedication, and commitment to the future of the manufacturing industry. As a member of the National Technical Honor Society and a dedicated welding student here at Advantage Academy, Rashad has consistently demonstrated the precision and "work ethic" that this scholarship represents.

Rashad’s goal is to continue his training and build a career in welding and engineering, and this support from Education Foundation ensures that his journey is just beginning.

Our wonderful students in Intro to building construction CBT and digital art design or partnering with the reindeer lane to re-create their reindeer display for Christmas.

Armier Miller was recognized for being the P*e Dee Work-Based Student of the Year Thursday night by the Florence 1 Schools Board of Trustees. We are so proud of him!

We at Advantage Academy are so proud of Armier and all of his hard work!

We are proud to share that our students recently participated in the 2026 SC AviCom (Aviation Simulator Competition) at Triple Tree Aerodrome in Enoree, SC. This marked the first year our program has competed in this event.

The participating students were:

- Campbell Tanner
- Antonio Rissman
- Grant Evans

As second-quarter aviation students, their participation is especially noteworthy. Their involvement reflects a strong commitment to building foundational skills and representing our program competitively.

We would like to extend a special congratulations to Campbell Tanner, who placed 3rd in the state for Ground Knowledge Pre-Solo. This is an outstanding achievement for a first-year student, particularly as she competed against previous event winners. This recognition highlights Campbell’s dedication, academic excellence, and promising future in the field of aviation.

Big things are happening at Advantage Academy!

We are proud to announce a historic milestone for our district. On February 23rd, the Housing Authority of Florence hosted a special Signing Day to honor Florence 1 Schools student Cedric Bartell.

A standout in the Electrical Program at Advantage Academy under the instruction of Mr. Charlie Litchford, Cedric is making history as the first student to represent this groundbreaking partnership.

This event marks the official launch of our partnership with the Housing Authority of Florence and Harbor Freight Fellows. Much like a student-athlete signing a letter of intent, we are gathering to celebrate this student’s commitment to excellence in the skilled trades.
