South Florence head football coach Drew Marlowe has officially resigned, closing the door on one of the most successful eras in Bruins football history.

Marlowe led South Florence to two state championships and four state title appearances, earning ABC 15 Coach of the Year honors twice during his tenure.

In a statement, Marlowe thanked the South Florence administration, the Bruins faithful, and—most importantly—the players who “poured every bit of their blood, sweat, and tears into South Florence Bruin Football.”

Marlowe is expected to be named the next head coach at Sumter.
