I'm building a Ford 5.4 Triton engine. I machined the block, I ordered the correct pistons, rings bearings, and made sure the clearances were correct.. Then I started to assemble the engine. With a complete unopened gasket set. BAM! Two different valve cover gaskets. One for the 3 valve engine, and one 4 valve engine.. How do you explain this? How can you predict this? The person that packaged the gaskets was paid on Friday. Now, the shop and the customer have to wait. Please be understanding when dealing with your shop. Sometimes it's really not their fault.
