When I started playing violin at 9 years old, my grandfather told me that I had to play violin in church. That is where I began to learn how to play by ear, and with other musicians. I had to learn how to play by ear because the sheet music, notes, and classical music that I was learning in school was not the language of the musicians that I played with.

To this day I remember looking over at the pianists hands, grateful that I know the keys that she is playing so that I can figure out the key and the notes. This Hymn is praise to God and a nostalgic visit to my childhood, enjoy:
