Happy Spring everyone. I forgot to post this earlier!. Happy (and ready right now) to serve you some delicious tacos from the mind and hands of Monarca.

Spring is arriving in Flint.

The days are a little longer, we get teased with 70 degree days. Not the end of snow but the first flowers are pushing through, and frogs are beginning to serenade us at night.

These are perfect nights to gather: Friends, music, warm light, and steaming bowls.

This Friday during Art Walk, Monarca lands at Queens’ Provisions.

Come wander the galleries and the streets of downtown.

Then step inside for a bowl of goodness.

I call it Tonkotsu del Norte because not only does it always have fresh locally butchered meat and bones, but I also replace the dry flavor of sake with a dry cider from Porters orchard, and sweet mirin with B. Nektar Mead from Ferndale. This is how we make regional cuisine that shines. :)

Arrived back from Mexico just in time to get the Ramen broth on! Special offering this week of the carne asada (flank steak) tacos that people keep requesting. No Vegan Ramen this week - due to limited time to source the ingredients.
