These credits are important for cities like Flint! Just ten seconds to complete.
๐จ TAKE ACTION TODAY ๐จ
The Community Redevelopment Tax Credit (CRTC) is being heard today before the Michigan Senate Economic & Community Development Committee, and READ is advocating on behalf of developers, neighborhoods, and communities across Detroit and Michigan.
The CRTC is a critical redevelopment tool that can help:
๐๏ธ Close financing gaps
๐๏ธ Unlock stalled development projects
๐ข Revitalize commercial corridors
๐๏ธ Preserve historic buildings
๐ฑ Support neighborhood reinvestment and growth
For many community-focused developments, this incentive could be the difference between a project moving forward or remaining on the sidelines.
We have an opportunity to demonstrate strong industry support before todayโs hearing.
โ
Complete the support form (it takes less than 10 seconds)
โ
READ will submit a card of support on your behalf
โ
Help show lawmakers the broad impact this legislation can have across Michigan
Every submission matters.
Every voice counts.
Every project counts.
๐ COMMENT โSUPPORTโ BELOW and weโll send you the direct link to stand with READ in supporting the Community Redevelopment Tax Credit (CRTC).
Together, we can advocate for the tools our communities need to build, preserve, and grow.

Happy birthday to CS Mott, born on June 2, 1875! In 1907 Mott moved his wheel and axle-making firm, Weston Mott, to Flint. For the next 65 years he was a key part of the rise of General Motors to be the largest car company in the world. The foundation that bears his name will celebrate it's own 100th birthday this weekend with a family festival at the Flint Cultural Center.

Bozo gets all the press, but did you know that WJRT TV12 had a host of locally-produced programming? Theatre of Thrills with host Christopher Coffin, Romper Room with Miss Lois (and later Miss Margie), Folkswingers (which featured Fenton act The Talismen), and Mr. Magic (portrayed by Frank Cady, who later became Bozo in 1967). One intriguing program was Colonel Gyro from Outer Space, but sadly, we haven't been able to find any more information about that one.
