In 99% of the instances local law enforcement will not be very helpful because it is a "civil matter". Hopefully, with the spotlight on squatters local police will become more sensitive to property owner's rights. Michigan judges are generally very good about restoring the property to the legal owner, but getting in front of the judge takes too long.
