Since 1999 Preferred Removal Service has provided caring, compassionate service to thousands of families throughout Genesee County and the State of Michigan.
Preferred Services is a mortuary transport service, providing dignified and respectful recovery and transport services to funeral homes, Gift of Life and medical examiner offices across the state. About the Role
As a Funeral Service Transport Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting families and funeral homes during one of life’s most difficult moments. Responsibilities include:
• Safe and respectful removal and transport of decedents from homes, hospitals, and care facilities
• Maintaining professionalism, compassion, and discretion at all times
• Completing required documentation accurately
• Communicating clearly with dispatch, funeral home partners, and team members
• Upholding Preferred Services’ high standards of dignity and care
What We’re Looking For
We seek individuals with strong character and compassion. Ideal candidates are:
• Respectful, empathetic, and able to serve families with sensitivity
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working in emotionally heavy situations
• Able to lift, move, and transport decedents safely (team lifting required)
• Professional in appearance, communication, and conduct
Qualifications
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
• Comfortable driving company vehicles, including vans and SUVs
• Prior experience in funeral services, medical transport, EMS, or caregiving is helpful but not required—we provide training for the right individuals
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts if applicable
