St. George Preschool

What an exciting and fun field trip these preschoolers had to experience their next adventure on their road to success…a real Kindergarten classroom!! The partnership between our community based preschool and Dye Elementary has continued to grow and get better and better…this year we added in a lot!! It began with a highly anticipated bus ride to and from, being welcomed with Kindergarten buddies to create sun visors because “Our future is so bright!”, eating lunch cafeteria style, the freedom at RECESS and ending with a librarian read aloud story in the school library! Thank you, Dye Elementary!!

What a fun Friday morning start for St. George Preschool staff as we had a professional development training with the original author of the infamous Pete The Cat books. He was funny, informative and so talented...bringing new ideas to the SGP staff to incorporate into our preschool classrooms to make reading more interactive and engaging for students!

Pre-K enrollment reaches new record for Michigan Educators highlighted a record enrollment of students in pre-K programs around Michigan this fall.

Quite a fun morning having Firefighter Josh in for a visit from the Flint Township Fire Department!! He put on his fireman equipment, taught us about smoke detectors and how to Stop, Drop & Roll! He reminded us all (even the teachers!) to have practice fire drills at home during the daylight & in the night! We all had an opportunity to get IN the firetruck and check out all the gadgets inside too!!

What a unique experience these preschoolers had…a lunch in our St. George Orthodox Church “restaurant” (banquet hall)!! …they amazed us all beyond belief! We were so proud of their great manners, how responsible they were, the way they tried new and different foods from a middle eastern cuisine: rice pilaf, kibbee, yahnee (green bean stew), fattoush salad and for their excitement for a new adventure!!
