Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (where my daughter Ciara Waggoner works) threw this stop animation together for me, so made a little edit out of it!
Salvatore DiSanto animated this!

I Won’t Hurt Me Anymore (Official Lyric Video) 03/07/2026

A fitting place for a lyric video.

I walk here a lot… I mean… A… Lot…

In the early mornings it’s quiet and the streets are mostly empty. Theres a weird energy here. It’s touristy, yes, but in those quiet and empty times when the sun is coming up, it’s a nice place to walk and think. It has it all. A river, scenery, coffee, and all the kitsch.

This is a song about ownership of oneself.

A song for when you realize the pain of hanging on is worse than the pain of letting go. A dream. An idea. A story. An identity. A relationship. A person. When letting go is the only option. Art by

Its live.

Three hours.

That’s all the time I had to record. A snapshot of a musical moment.

My daughter text me to ask if I had time to talk. My mind immediately wondered if there was something wrong. But she asked: “Want to record at The Village?” Yes, please.

The Village isn’t just a studio. It’s where legends—Aaliyah, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Coldplay, and more—have laid tracks. And in three hours, that magic happened for me.

We showed up with nothing, they had a guitar with dead strings. What resulted is a raw, in-the-moment vibe. A small album, a huge opportunity.

Thank you, Ciara. Your belief means the world to me.

P.S. If you listen closely, you might hear Joe Walsh next door in Studio A.

Check it out!

What do I have in common with Billy Corgan and The Smashing Pumpkins? We both recorded in this room… I recorded an album in 3 hours at The Village Studios in September. Streaming New Year morning! I don’t drink anymore, but trust me when I say this will be the perfect new year day hangover album!

You have 3 hours. What do you do?

I was getting ready for a trip to Los Angeles to visit my daughter, which is always a special visit. That's when she texted: "Do you have time to talk? I have a question." I always have time to talk to her, so I called her back immediately.

"How would you like to record at the village ?" she asked.

Without hesitation I exclaimed, "Of course l'd love that!"

The Village isn't just any recording studio. Some of the most iconic music has been captured there:
Aaliyah, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Cage the Elephant, Cheech & Chong, Chick Corea, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Dr. Dre, Eric Clapton, Etta James, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Zappa, Gwen Stefani, Herbie Hancock, Ice Cube, Janet Jackson, Jim Morrison / The Doors, John Mayer, Keb' Mo', Kesha, L.A.
Guns, Lady Gaga, Marc Anthony, Mick Jagger, Neil Young, Oasis, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, The Jacksons, The Raconteurs, The Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Steely Dan, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner - and many more.

Who would turn that down?
My daughter didn't know the exact parameters yet, but she knew we were making it happen. Do I need to bring anything? What song will I do?
How long do I have? These questions raced through my mind as I tried to stay cool about the opportunity.
The day arrived. My daughter called:
"Just show up... we have a guitar and you have 3 hours." Three hours?!

I could record one song with overdubs and make it sound perfect. I could do three and make them sound okay. Or... I could max out three hours and lay down a full album with just me and a guitar.

That's what I did.

For song selection, I wasn't ready to recycle my recent 53 Echoes album as an acoustic release, and I didn't have fully fleshed-out new material yet. I chose some older tunes that were no longer readily available and a handful of covers that were resonating with me at the moment.

On September 30th, 2025, I went in with my daughter and we went to work.

This album is raw: one small overdub, no autotune, and performed on a Gibson with dead strings. But it's me… captured in the moment.

All of this is possible thanks to my daughter who went out of her way to make me feel special.

Thank you, Ciara. There isn't a day that goes by that l'm not grateful for you.

Side note: if you listen closely, you can hear Joe Walsh in Studio A right next door.
