purging can be one of the most frustrating things BUT there is a light at the end of the tunnel…. it’ll all be worth it!!!

Skin purging is temporary reaction that occurs when active ingredients (retinoids, acids, exfoliants) speed up cell turnover causing impurities to rise to the surface.

It is critical during this stage of the clearing process to continue using products. I always recommend a few other helpful tips during this process including:

-take a zinc and omega supplement. Face Reality’s Balance and Restore supplements are a HIGH QUALITY supplement made especially for the skin.
-ice, ice, ice. anything that is inflamed 🧊
-sulfur spot treatment is your friend🤝🏽
-as always, spf is super important. Not only protects the skin from pigmination and premature aging but allows us to keep the barrier healthy while using actives.
-be sure you are using a hydrating serum and or a calming serum. For hydrators, Hydrablance from face reality is 👩🏽‍🍳💋
-please, please, please avoid the urge to pick lesions. This can do far more damage to the skin!
