Are you recovering just as much (if not more) than you are training? This is a key proponent in injury prevention and muscle recovery.

Active recovery = move in a way that is not taxing to your body.

Do things like: long walks, bike ride, swim, yard work, things that you enjoy.

Wednesdays are a beautiful day for AR because its the middle of the week and makes it really easy to build training around.

Make it fun and personalize it to you! Iโ€™ll be riding a spin class tonight for mine :)

Choose your treat!

With the holidays approaching, it was time for an October themed nutrition challenge. As you know, October means Halloween candy and pumpkin flavored everything. And these things are NOT bad things - as long as they are consumed in moderation (Especially right after a workout). Holidays are meant to be enjoyed and food plays a big part in that. This month we are going to choose one treat per day to enjoy.

Pumpkin donuts in the office? Enjoy one! & that is your treat for the day.
Kiddos bring home extra candy from school and offer you some? Enjoy a piece! & that is your treat for the day.

Think abundance - not restriction.
