Welcome Sargent Stars!
4th graders from Sargent Elementary took at trip to Bannermans Island today! They learned about the history of the island and it was a perfect fall day for a boat ride on the Hudson!

The future Fjord Trail will create new opportunities to experience the Hudson River up close, including striking vistas of mysterious Bannerman Island (official name: Pollepel Island) and the iconic ruins of Bannerman’s Castle rising from the river.
What is Bannerman's Castle? It's the remains of an early 20th-century Scottish-style arsenal built by businessman Francis Bannerman VI. Once a bustling storage complex for one of America’s largest military-surplus businesses, Bannerman’s Castle today stands as one of the region's most intriguing landmarks.
It’s one of the many remarkable Hudson Highlands landscapes the Fjord Trail will invite people to slow down, explore, and experience from a whole new perspective.
