Celebrate our Country’s 250 Anniversary July 4

Village of Fishkill resident Owen Brown is working on his Eagle Scout project. His project is a Historical Walking Tour through the Village of Fishkill. The date this will go live will be July 4 In honor of our Country’s 250 Anniversary. All you will have to do to learn about our vibrant history is click the QR code and discover information about our Village. Great work Owen! Thank you. What a great idea!

Mayor Martin was happy to share the story of our Village’s creation at the Town of Fishkill’s 250 Anniversary Celebration! She stated “ May we honor the vision of those who incorporated this Village in 1899 by remaining committed to persevering our history, strengthening our community, and ensuring that the Village of Fishkill continues to thrive for many years to come.”

Last night at the Board of Trustees Meeting Mayor Martin made the following statement regarding a video taken at our Block Party, and posted on social media by a member of the public.

“ The Village of Fishkill stands firmly against antisemitism,bigotry, racism, and hatred in all their forms.

Acts of prejudice and intolerance have no place in our community.

Our strength comes from the diversity of our residents, and from the shared values of respect, dignity, and inclusion that unite us.

We condemn any actions or rhetoric that target individuals because of their faith, ethnicity , race,national identity, or background. Antisemitism,like all forms of hate, undermines the very principles of community and democracy that we hold dear.

As Mayor, I remain committed to fostering a Village where everyone feels safe, valued, and welcomed. We must continue to stand together, speak out against hatred, and support each other in building a Community based on understanding, compassion, and mutual respect.

The Village of Fishkill is strongest when we stand united.”
