Tether Rides at Urban Apple: Cancelled Tonight

Wish I had better news, but we're scrubbing tonight's tether rides at Urban Apple.

Good news: we're already rescheduled for October 16th, 6pm.

Here's the honest why, it's not rain, it's wind. Our limits for safety sit at 7mph sustained, and tonight we're forecast to run right at that ceiling and over with gusts up to 15mph on top of it. Normally wind drops off at sunset, but a front moving through this weekend is keeping things unsettled, so we're not getting that usual calm window tonight.

A gust like that hitting the basket mid-flight isn't something we gamble with. Passenger safety comes first, every time, no exceptions.

See you October 16th at 6pm. Same spot, same crew, better weather!

Get ready for some fun this weekend  and the Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel and Westfield area! As many as 48 Balloons will be flying between Friday night and Sunday morning:)

Whether you will be attending the Jupiter Flights Festival or will be watching the balloons from outside Conner Prairie, there’s a fun way to reach out to the pilots.

The balloon pilots will be taking off from Conner Prairie, as well as taking off from outside launch spots throughout the weekend. If you live in areas close to Conner Prairie and have property free of power lines, trees, etc, you can place a white sheet in your yard. This lets pilots know that it is ok for them to take off or land at your property.

This is not a guarantee that they will access your property. There are a lot of of factors that would lead a pilot’s decision to takeoff or land at a determined spot. The weather, the wind direction, the size of available space, and the safe conditions surrounding the area.

This is a great way to be involved and support the pilots. Thanks for your consideration.
