Indianapolis area Company looking for a purchasing representative with at least 3 years of raw material procurement experience.
This position requires strategic sourcing of raw materials through creating, negotiating and executing both short and long-term pricing and contracts designed to reduce costs, improve payment terms, maximize value and minimize risk.

Essential Duties:
Initiate, identify, organize, lead, negotiate and manage assigned commodities and collaborates with other cross functional teams.
Leverage buy/spend to drive cost savings along with negotiating/re-negotiating and administering contracts.
Source new suppliers based on price, quality and reliability of source and evaluate new supplier performance.
Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, track market conditions, price trends and future markets to determine impact on cost, quality and risk.
Recommend sources of supply; maintain accurate knowledge of industry along with industry trends.
Initiate projects to reduce total cost and recommend and implement cost savings programs.
Research product lines, prices and product sources and evaluate findings to benchmark cost on strategic products and address market fluctuations.
Focus on cost improvement and control, process improvements to achieve competitive advantage, and responsiveness to customer demand.
Develop, strengthen and maintain relationship with suppliers including communication of key corporate initiatives as well as the development and ex*****on of business plans to meet corporate objectives.
Ensure cooperation and collaboration with key internal partners to foster supply chain and product innovation and fully utilizes key partners’ capabilities to maximize the economic value to the enterprise and leverage improvements in processes, systems, and vendor management initiatives.
Negotiate contracts and establish optimal terms and conditions as well as monitor contract compliance.
Participate in new product development projects, i.e., contribute in product definition, supplier qualifications, selection of suppliers, RFQs and evaluation, risk analysis, price negotiations, and delivery requirements.
Required Experience:
BA or BS degree required, or equivalent years of experience. C.P.M. or CPSM preferred.
Minimum (3) years of experience with proven track record of strategic purchasing and marketing of raw materials.
Experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred
Proven track record of cost savings and contract negotiation skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Possess a thorough knowledge of current supply chain management concepts.
Able to manage multiple tasks and provide excellent customer service, detailed and highly organized.
Other Requirements:
Ability to maintain high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
Ability to operate necessary office equipment, computers, and peripherals.
Prolonged periods of sitting and exposure to computer screens.
General mobility to stand and walk in office environment and office facilities.
