Some structures from years past! Which one do you need?

Years ago while in England for school we were introduced to Penelope Hobhouse, an English garden critic. I remember a line from her book where she talked about her love of the juxtaposition of a clipped box hedge with flowing hydrangea behind it. It has stuck with me. I planted these Invincibelle Spirit II Hydrangea about 5 years ago and they have been spectacular. Even their spent flowers have a pink tint to them. The boxwood succumbed to the winter stress and disease last year and I plan to replant with 'Strongbox' Inkberry Holly this year and see what they do! Spring comes soon!

Next up for my friends ! This beautiful home is scheduled to be completed by mid-April, just in time for a spring install. I used the angle of the property line to orient the pool and backyard space to give a better view of the lake. This will be a great space for summer parties! Maybe they'll invite me over...

I completed the design for the remainder of the 1.5 acre property in Meridian-Kessler. A crazy awesome lot in the middle of it all. Site visits make me miss my Broad Ripple days! Adding a parking area close to the front of the house gives it the inviting feel I didn't have upon my first visit. The perimeter plantings will give the home privacy and color using a diverse range of evergreens and deciduous plantings. This project will be phased in, starting with a redo of the sport court and front entry. The large format, natural stone from up front will repeat in the sitting area off of the court.

Another awesome property and this one with my friends at Vibrant Outdoors! This is 1.5 acres in Meridian-Kessler and has incredible potential. We're starting with the entry and street view and will get the remainder designed next week. I despise most groundcovers and this 200' of slope along the sidewalk needed some love. Removing most of the trees and brush along the slope will really open up the space. The large, natural stone wall and gate would give this entry the grandeur it deserves. The plantings and boulders would soften the remaining slope while bringing privacy back to the property. Looking forward to the next step!!!

A special design for a very special property. The pool was shot a couple of weeks ago and will sit until spring. Meanwhile, we can get moving on all the hardscape and boulders as the weather allows! A challenging site with severe slope and elevation change will require 40+ tons of boulders to keep it from sliding into the pond. Looking forward to the progress!!

I swapped out some fire and ice hydrangea for these beauts this year. Need to prune the hedge but I love the color and texture of that new growth.

Stopping by to meet with a neighbor. I just can’t get enough of my one year old! And, they maintain it so well! The day that Nootka reaches the second story window, I will call it matured!

I said our last one was our last one... Maybe just one more! We picked a much better time of year than the previous two. It’s amazing how much quicker they go up in the warmth of summer! Yes, it’s still summer... keep your pumpkin spice away from me, there’s still work to be done!
