5th grade students are visiting the Middle School today and tomorrow. They are getting a tour of the building, and meeting the principal, assistant principal and counselors. They got a tour from middle school student council members. Students are excited to move to the middle school, but understandably a little anxious as well.

Some high school students came by Mrs. Pratte's and Mrs. Drury's 4th grade classrooms this week. They came to teach a lesson on helping students get along. The lesson was about celebrating our individual talents and strengths that make us all unique and different. The program is part of a District-wide effort to foster kindness and friendship among all students. The District has been doing lessons like this in the 4th grade for several years. This is a follow-up to a lesson on kindness that is taught to some kindergarten classes and a lesson on friendship that is taught to some 2nd grade classes.

Intermediate's Tiger Tribe has worked hard building a bench together. Using team work and problem solving skills, students learned how to cut boards, drill holes, set screws and assemble the tribe's fifth bench. We will be sanding and staining in the coming weeks. We have learned to honor up, honor down and honor all around. This means we will honor everyone around us. Those in authority, those below, and everyone we meet. We do our best, never give up, show respect to others, take responsibility, and lead to win. Thinking of others before ourselves.
