Hey actors and improvisers! Need a new perspective on improv? Want to loosen up your acting? You've heard teachers and directors tell you to "connect with your scene partner" or "be affected" or to "ground your scene", but do they ever tell you how? This course is all about how.

Viewpoints is a series of tenets that can define the physical reality of each moment onstage. Mindfulness is the practice of being present and aware of what you are feeling and what is happening in and around you without judgement. Meisner technique is recognizing and reacting to behaviour in ourselves and in others without thinking. Together they are the most intuitive and comprehensive improvised acting technique I know.

Make it Meaningful - a workshop

The most memorable improv shows I've seen had something to them that I could connect with; a desire, a theme, a message, etc. There was a deeper meaning to them beyond the plot, games, and jokes. This goes for plays, movies, songs, or any story.

Join me Saturday afternoon at Go Comedy! in Ferndale, Michigan for Make it Meaningful, where we'll work on weaving metaphor and theme into your playstyle. Fantastic for longform and short form narrative, giving your sets a sense of purpose, and laying the groundwork for more satisfying endings to your stories.
