EAA Chapter 1174

It will be a great day at the airport for our Belgian Waffle Fly-in from 8-1. There is travel across the bridge over the interstate on highway 210. Hope to see you all there.

Please be aware that there is construction on the bridges and interstate at exit 54. The ramps are closed from the interstate. You are able to cross the bridge and please follow the signage for highway 210 West when you use the different exit to come to the airport this Sunday.

The fly-in is coming up quick. Hope to see you all there.

The annual Belgian waffle fly-in breakfast is coming up on Sunday, June 14th following the SummerFest activities. Come out and support our chapter with all you can eat waffles, sausages and airplanes! Young Eagle rides will be available by signing up online! We look forward to seeing you and your families out there.

Spring Young Eagle Update!

We are all wrapped up for our Spring 2026 Young Eagle events. We flew a total of 305 Young Eagles so far this year. We flew students from Pelican Rapids, Fergus Falls, Hillcrest Lutheran, Rothsay, and Battle Lake. We also flew Young Eagles at the Wheels, Tracks, and Wings event at the Elbow Lake Airport.

I want to thank all of the great volunteer pilots and ground crew that all work so hard to make these events successful. We can't do these events without you. Also big thanks to Prairie Air Inc and Sky Crew Services for all the help at the airports.

Our chapter had an aviation career moment today. Dave Jennen a longtime member has flown over 1,600 Young Eagles!! We are so thankful for his commitment to the Young Eagle program. Congratulations again and thank you so much for all you do in aviation.

We had a total of 55 students from the West Central Area School go for their Young Eagle flights. It was a great day working with Prairie Air Inc to inspire the next generation of aviators!
