Otters Elementary PTO

We had an absolutely great day yesterday ending a record breaking fundraising week to support our students! With the generosity of our community and beyond we were able to raise $61,000 to provide experiences and so much more to students in K-5. Thank you all!

The top classes in each grade also got the privilege to pie their teacher! This morning we did Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Next week will be grades 4th and 4th.

Join us tomorrow at the KSS track to watch the students in grades K-5 participate in this year's Otter Dash! Please sit in the bleachers and remain off the track area.

This last fall, the third-grade classes visited the MSUM planetarium and oceanarium. Isn't it great that such opportunities are available relatively close to our area?

The first grade class will visit Chahinkapa Zoo in May, complementing their animal studies throughout this last year.

The second-grade class took part in an educational outing to Maplewood State Park, focusing on the heritage and techniques involved in converting maple sap into syrup.

Keep it up, Otter Families! We are using TEAMWORK to crush our goal.

This year we were able to bring in Snake Discovery, an Author and a play (The Magic School). This is all made possible by your generosity! Thank you!!!

The 5th grade field trip is at Detroit Mountain! They get to spend the day tubing! Our way of giving them a fun send off as they move onto KSS.

The 4th grade experience this year was a visit from the Science Museum of Minnesota. They have a great program that incorporates a large group assembly and a hands-on experiment.
