We were back at MMRA this weekend for races #2 and #3.

Friday night, Colten was supposed to run with the new Friday night series, but with no heavy drivers there, he sat that one out.

On Saturday, he ran Heavy World Formula. He started 4th in the heat and was running well before spinning with just three laps to go, finishing 4th. In the feature, he started 4th and had a fast car. This one always seems to get tight on us, but Colten drove hard and brought home a strong 2nd place finish❤️🏁

He also jumped in Alex Barrett’s Unrestricted Animal to help their team work through some kinks. In the heat, he pulled off after the car had an issue. After some adjustments, he went back out for the feature and was fast, running out front before the same issue came back and he had to pull off again.

All in all, it was a good weekend with solid speed and more things learned. Sunday’s races were rained out.

What a weekend😔❤️🏁

Racing has a way of keeping you humble. Some weekends everything falls into place, and some weekends test your patience and determination. This was definitely one of those challenging weekends at Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series

Saturday:

The day started with some solid heat race performance, but the mains brought more than their share of adversity.

In the Heavy 160 B-Main, Colten started P6 and was running a strong race when contact from another competitor caused damage to the car. Despite bringing it to the pits for adjustments, the car was never quite the same afterward, making for a difficult finish.

Next up was the Heavy Honda A-Main. Starting P3, Colten was battling near the front of the field and looking strong. Unfortunately, while working through lap traffic, and he got tied up with the lapper ending our race early. That's a tough pill to swallow when you've got a car capable of running up front.

In the Heavy World Formula A-Main, Colten started P3. We fought a tight race car most of the event—something we've battled at KZOO before—and brought home a P5 finish.

Sunday:

We focused solely on the World Formula Mod. Colten started P6 in the heat race and worked his way up to P4. In the A-Main, we may have had the setup a little too loose, but for only his third Mod race, he did a great job gaining valuable experience and continuing to learn.

While the results don't always show it, we're proud of how Colten handled a weekend filled with challenges, including damage and incidents that were out of our control. Racing can be frustrating when your day gets cut short, but we will regroup, learn from it, fix what we can, and move forward.

Next up triple header at Michigan Motorsports Racing Association before heading back out for the next MWT at Mac O Chee in three weeks. We'll keep working, keep learning, and come back stronger.

Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series Day 1 heats are completed!

Heavy Honda started P3 and finished P2! He will go to the A Main.

Heavy 160 started p6 finshed p3 he will go to the B main.

Heavy World Formula started P1 and won the heat! 🏁🏁❤️❤️ will go to the A Main!

Today, the entire team at CJC Racing pauses to remember, honor, and pay tribute to the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

As we spend this day with family, friends, and the racing community, let us keep the families of our fallen service members in our hearts and minds.

Forever grateful.

Sometimes life gets busy and you have to adjust plans a bit! Because of that, Team CJC will be taking this weekend off.

We’ll be back soon, recharged and ready to hit the track for Kalamazoo Midwest Thunder. 🏁💪

We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear of the sudden passing of Kyle Busch. He left an undeniable and lasting mark on the track.

Kalamazoo Race Weekend Recap 🏁🔥

Late update because Mom wasn’t there this weekend, so it took a minute to get all the info together! 😅

Friday night under the lights at Little Kalamazoo, Colten raced only the Unrestricted Animal for the night race. He brought home a WIN in the heat race and followed it up with a strong P2 finish in the feature! 🌙🏁

Saturday kicked off Quad City #1 with all three classes on track:
🏎️ Unrestricted Animal
🏎️ Heavy 160
🏎️ Heavy World Formula

The Unrestricted Animal feature could’ve been a different story. While running fourth, Colten pulled off for a shock adjustment after the car got tight. Dad called it a “bonehead move,” but that’s racing — sometimes you gamble trying to make the car better. 🤷‍♀️😂

The good news? We found some speed this weekend and learned a lot.

Next stop: Quad City Toledo next weekend! Let’s keep digging! 🔥🏁
