At our farm, our animals are not a product. They are family. They are pets. Bambi was our daughter’s first goat, and she and her sister Rocket came into our lives and re-shaped our future more than we would ever know.
For the last 9 years, Bambi has been loyal, loving, and the definition of what a perfect companion is. She had the sweetest soul and kindest disposition. Our daughter has had Bambi by her side for 9 out of her 14 years of life, and Bambi’s passing yesterday has been a hard one.
We are so grateful to have known such a beautiful soul, and our farm won’t feel the same without her. We will forever miss her, but we know she is resting peacefully over that rainbow bridge.

Being an emergency room nurse is hard, but coming home to my farm, full of love and peacefulness, makes each day a little more survivable. They are the true healers in this world. We just have to stop and listen.

In case anyone is wondering where the heck we’ve been! —->
We welcomed Lucy and Linus to our farm about two weeks ago! Dad is 75% German Shepherd and 25% Pyrenees, mom is 100% Irish Wolfhound! They are about 8 weeks old and absolutely brilliant. They already know how to sit and are doing great mostly pottying outside! They will be awesome pups to have around the farm and we’re so happy to have them!

Thinking about mums already! What’s your favorite color?!
How do we keep everyone cool in 100 degree weather?
To start, it’s about 4-5 degrees cooler at our farm than in the city. This is because we don’t have the concrete surrounding us and we have tons of old growth forest!
Then we have a grandma (Booah) who visits everyday. She always has the “treat Jeep” but will also bring frozen treats for every pasture when its hot, hot ❤️
Yesterday, Chloe got her bath and for the first time ever, she decided she actually sort of liked the hose!! You know it’s hot when that princess of a mare wants to play in the water! So sweet!

Life is pretty special when you have a 30 year old retired military donkey to spend it with. Yesterday was Radars bath day and he is just the best old boy in the pasture!
Radar is certainly showing his age after some winter weight loss due to 30 year old teeth, lumps and bumps, and an episode of choke (which was resolved with the help of a great doc and an emergency vet visit). He has a very special diet that includes rice bran, flax, chia seeds, and soaked Wild Forage. Our goal for him is strictly revolved around a good quality of life. We’re so fortunate that Ronan has had such a special donkey to call his own. Their relationship is the best! ❤️

The roses are budding and will soon be in bloom again! The Flavorette Pear’d that we grow were specifically bred for culinary purposes. With a white and blushing petal, they are lightly and sweetly scented, and many say the taste is familiar to that of a pear. The petals are silky smooth and wonderful in a salad or as decor on cakes. My kids even eat them right off the bushes when theyre in bloom!
—Never eat roses you buy from the stores unless they’re intended for that purpose and organic! Many get sprayed with dangerous chemicals. At Tipsico Valley Farm, we never use harmful chemicals on our property.
