In 2012, a coalition of concerned Federal Way citizens formed to correct a need in the community for a day shelter with shower and laundry equipment.

In early 2013, we thoroughly researched the needs for a day shelter. We asked the homeless for their thoughts and here's what they had to say:

“It would make a difference to be clean”

“Huge difference. Could make us feel ready for the day or more confident to look for work etc."

“It would mean a lot less sickness that comes from not having regular baths and clean clothes”

Our Story

THE PROBLEM


  • Federal Way has inadequate services for homeless people, especially during the day.

  • No showers and laundry facilities are available on a predictable, consistent basis.

  • Homeless lack an address and access to a computer to aid in job search & applications.
