🎉 Happy National Scout Day – February 8 🎉
On this day in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America was founded by William D. Boyce—a proud Freemason—with a vision to build character, citizenship, and leadership in young people.
Boyce was joined by two remarkable leaders, both also Masons:
🔹 Daniel Carter Beard, the first National Commissioner of the BSA
🔹 James E. West, who would become the first Chief Scout Executive
Their shared values of service, integrity, and community continue to shape Scouting more than a century later.
Today, Scouts BSA Troops 841 and 330 are honored to carry that legacy forward. We are especially proud to be chartered by Thornton F McElroy #302 , whose continued support helps ensure Scouting remains strong for future generations.
Here’s to 116 years of Scouting—building leaders, serving others, and living the Scout Oath and Law. ⚜️
