We are celebrating 60 years of services at Birth to Three by sharing some stories from families we've been honored to work with over the decades!
Emily received services at Birth to Three from 1998 – 2001. Physical therapy helped her learn how to balance and walk while speech therapy helped her with talking and eating. “Speech therapy probably made the most difference for Emily, giving her the ability to express herself,” says her mom. “And the playgroup she was in helped her socialize and helped me connect with other parents of special needs children.”
After leaving Birth to Three, Emily had a great experience during her school years. Today, she works at McDonalds while seeking opportunities that will utilize her high level of skills. She volunteers at her church’s food pantry and is active in Special Olympics bowling, tennis, and other recreational activities including camping, hiking, Zumba and – her favorite – dance class. Emily loves to watch and dance to musicals!
